Art Studio KM

a r t   s t u d i o -  km

It's amazing what a little white paint can do...

I adore scandinavian design.  My grandma on my mom's side was full Norwegian, so I connect with this style. Making this room more modern and white makes me very happy.  When we moved in January it was my plan to paint this wall white. It has been pretty busy and we didn't get around to it until just last week.

This simple but amazing desk was inspired by a visit to an art university.  When I was thinking about art schools I came across this desk in the art teachers office.  She had an eames chair and amazing turkish rug.  I just loved this design and simplicity.  I tend to get paint everywhere so I kept it simple.

In order to keep my desk modern and clean I used this ikea shelf to store all my paints and supplies.  Leaving just the essentials on my desk.  The older I get the more I really appreciate simplicity.

I just wanted to show this photo above to show my, never never never give up... which is just a reminder to myself when I get discouraged or don't feel like creating.

I have this magnetic board to visually show goals or love notes from my honey.  When I was out of town working for my old boss last week, Rob finished painting my wall and put things back and left me flowers and this "love" card at the top right.  It really was so sweet!

I hope you enjoyed looking at my little art studio. It's not some grand thing, but I feel so blessed to have a space where I can create.  It has been a dream of mine for years.

  1. I love the space Kimberly, all the little touches with your plants & quotes are perfect. Jealous of that desk, great simple design for sure. Just checked out our pinterest board while I had my cup of tea, I think we have very similar styles & I'm lucky to have met you...via the internet. I also loved looking at your past work, lovely to see how styles change. We are going to Toronto tomorrow for an early Birthday celebration,& I am looking forward to sharing our day trip on my blog. I'll let you know when it's posted, still getting used to having the website up. Have a great weekend!

  2. Hey, I am just learning how to write back on comments. I guess it wasn't to hard but I was trying to do it on my phone and it wasn't working. Yes, I am so glad we have met over instagram... I think we have similar styles for sure. I really like all your interior photo's you share. Makes me get all excited to decorate but I like my home pretty simple and it's pretty much done. I always thought it would be fun to be an interior designer. But a lot of work too. I am sorry this Happy Birthday is a little late... but I hope you had a great day! cheers!
